Police arrests suspected kidnappers of Frenchman Patrice Porte, CFAO & ICRAFON CEO

After close to two months of intense tracking and investigations, the police elements of Kribi say they have finally laid their hands on those who had kidnapped and tied Mr Patrice Porte to a tree over 2 months ago.

According to Equinoxe radio in Douala, the hoodlums were apprehended with some deadly weapons found in their possession at the time of the arrest.

The circumstances for their arrests are however not clear.

Over two months ago, October 18, 2020, the gang intercepted the CFAO and ICRAFON CEO, Mr Patrice Porte on the highway in Kribi.

He was taken and detained for some few hours and was only released after security forces launched a fierce intervention.

Mr Patrice was kidnapped alongside his wife and one other as they were returning from golfing.

The BIR then launched a manhunt which sent the kidnappers on their heels and the three hostages released.

However it took more time for the security agents in the Ocean Division to track down the criminals and bring them to justice. The population of the region bas expressed a huge sigh of relief as they affirm that the gang had been a source of constant threats and fear.
