A pregnant woman , Helen Enanga has died in a fire outbreak in the Buea-Town vicinity of Buea, Fako division of the South West region. The incident happened this Monday March 28.
Some locals told MMI that, the fire stemmed from a candle Enanga lit and placed by her side. This was said to have been done due to power outages.
“Enanga was my best friend. It has not been up to a year and a half since she got married. I can’t still believe she is gone. It’s too hard for me to accept,” a close friend of the deceased said.
Some locals of Buea- Town have since been cursing the electricity supply company, Energy of Cameroon, ENEO, linking Enanga’s death to repeatedly blackouts in the city of Buea.
” They will not give us light. They will allow us to find other means to get light. All this, at the detriment of our lives. If they had provided us with light this incident would not have happened.”
Enanga leaves behind a two-year-old son, husband, relatives and friends to mourn her. As at the time of this report, arrangements were underway to inter her.
