Shortly after their return from Switzerland, the President of the Republic of Cameroon Paul Biya alongside the First Lady Chantal Biya will be leaving Cameroon for Russia this week.
According to several sources, the presidential couple will be leaving Cameroon in the coming days to take part in the Russia-Africa summit which opens on July 27 in Saint Petersburg.
On November 30, 2022, the Russian Ambassador to Cameroon, Anatoly Baschkine, sent the Cameroonian Minister of External Relations an invitation to the second edition of the Russia-Africa Summit, in the name of President Paul Biya.
The ‘main objective’ of the summit which opens at the end of the week is to federate “African delegations of the highest levels”, declared Oleg Ozerov, head of the secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It should be noted that President Biya attended the same event in 2019.
