“President Paul Biya has won the war against separatists” – Paul Atanga Nji

Cameroon’s minister of territorial administration has declared the government’s victory in the war against separatists seeking the restoration of a state they call Ambazonia.

Chairing a security meeting in Bamenda in the North West region Monday, January 18th, 2021, Paul Atanga Nji said, “I am pleased to tell all of you that President Paul Biya has won the war against terrorists and secessionists.”

He adds that “…just a few pockets of resistance still exist. I’m calling on parents of these children in the bushes to get to the bushes and withdraw their children else government will do so”.
He insists that those still causing the disorder are desperate now and will soon be wiped out.

To Paul Atanga Nji, defense and security forces in the North West have been professional in their work to stop terrorism.

As the minister chairs the security meeting at the governor’s office at Up Station in Bamenda, the rest of the city remains silent with people respecting Monday’s traditional ghost town imposed by separatist fighters. Reporters have noticed that Bamenda 3 subdivision that has previously violated ghost town is now respecting it, with businesses closed.

The security meeting chaired by Paul Atanga Nji comes after the convoy of the senior divisional officer of Momo Division was attacked, killing four soldiers and a civilian.
