President Paul Biya is alive – His Spokesperson

The government of Cameroon has said President Paul Biya is alive and healthy.

In a release signed by the Minister of Communication, Rene Emmanuel Sadi says President Paul Biya is busy pushing forward government’s anti-coronavirus drive to curb further spread.

He calls on Cameroonians not to heed to the social media rumors. News of 87-year-old President Paul Biya’s allege “death” was received with mixed feelings on Wednesday night before it was dispelled few hours later.

Who is President Paul Biya

Paul BIYA was born on 13 February 1933 at Mvomeka’a, Meyomessala Subdivision, Dja-et-Lobo Division, South Region of Cameroon. He is the son of Etienne Mvondo Assam and Anastasie Eyenga Elle.

He is Cameroon’s second Head of State. He came to power on 6 November 1982 following the resignation of President Ahmadou Ahidjo on 4 November.

Paul Biya has ruled Cameroon with an iron fist. His current 7-year mandate will end in 2025 when the Octogenarian will be 92.

As at now, discussions on the streets are on the ability of the 87-year-old to continue to lead Cameroon.
