The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will be playing against some of the top ranked teams in the world at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. Among Cameroon’s opponents is five times FIFA World Cup winner Brazil.
The last time these two teams faced each other in this same tournament was in 2014 in Brazil. The Lions were thrashed by the Selecaos 4-1 with Joel Cameroon’s onl Matip scoring Lion’s only goal at the tournament.
Heading into this year’s tournament however after missing the 2018 edition in Russia, Cameroonians are a little more optimistic about the Indomitable Lion’s chances.
Cameroon will be meeting with Brazil in their final group game. If they manage to take the necessary points from the other two opponents ; Switzerland and Serbia, then the outcome against Brazil won’t count.
Equally, if by the third game Brazil should equally have qualified, then the Lions may face a heavily rotated side in the final group game.
Nevertheless, complacency for the other teams must never be an option if the Indomitable Lions don’t want to leave the tournament at the group stage.
