Qatar 2022 World Cup: Algerians take campaign for replay of match with Cameroon to FIFA headquarters

Algerian fans Wednesday staged a protest in front of the FIFA headquarter in Zurich Switzerland.

It was a new phase of the country’s quest to cause a replay of their last World Cup qualifier game against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

They held placards with statements such as “Stop Corruption”, “Honesty and Justice for FIFA”, “Corrupt Gassama”.

Pictures of the protest later flooded several social media n

networks

FIFA a few days back fined both Cameroon and Algeria varied amounts over fans invasion of pitches.

It has however not ruled on a petition from Algeria and Egypt for their last World Cup qualifying games to be replayed.

Many Algerians have argued that the referee’s decision to disallow a goal of the desert foxes was a decisive shift in the second leg game against Cameroon.

It shattered the Algerian squad’s hopes of advancing to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
