Algerians will not be pleased with the latest move made by the world football governing body, FIFA following their defeat to Cameroon in the world cup playoffs.
A congratulatory message addressed to Gambian referee, Bakary Gassama has been has been issued by FIFA. The Gambian has been lauded for his handling of the playoff game.
Nevertheless, the letter was addressed to all other referees who handled the playoffs in Africa, for their diligence and professionalism.
The Algerians will seemingly not be too pleased with this news, after having labeled the Gambian referee as a cheat and corrupt official.
The Algerian press has also called for the game to be replayed, claiming Bakary Gassama was biased in his officiating.
An appeal dropped by the Algerian Football Federation against the officiating will also be examined by FIFA on April 21, 2022.
The signs are however not good for the Algerians who will be hoping for a replay of the Blida encounter.
