Question of the day: How has the arrest, repatriation and sentencing of Sisiku and co impacted on the quest for freedom by English-speaking Camerooonians?

Today marks five years since Sisiku Ayuk Tabe, the most popular president of the self-declared republic of Ambazonia was arrested alongside nine others in Nigeria and extradited to Cameroon.

Sisiku Ayuk Tabe and co were held incommunicado for over six months — sparking widespread condemnation about the legality of the arrest and the manner in which they were being treated.

In August 2019, they were sentenced to life in prison for secession, terrorism and other charges.

How have these incidents affected the quest for freedom by English-speaking Camerooonians which started in 2016?
