Rapper Tilla Tafari Seeks Support After Heartbreaking Betrayal: “I Almost Had a Heart Attack”

“I’ve been hoping to get back to business ASAP, but it has been really difficult to raise another capital on my own,” says Cameroonian rapper Tilla Tafari.

The female rap artist recently took to her social media handle to seek financial assistance after an unfortunate incident involving her elder sister. Tilla, who ventured into the restaurant business after facing challenges in the music industry, entrusted her stocked restaurant to her sister for management during a two-week absence. However, upon her return, she was met with an unexpected and devastating situation.

“I handed the keys of my stocked restaurant to my blood elder sister before leaving town for two weeks due to the lockdown in Bamenda. I thought it wise to go do some networking out of town, especially as I was preparing to expand into seafood,” she explained.

“Despite the fact that she had been selling, I returned back to a totally and completely empty kitchen and no money at all. All my investment was gone. I almost had a heart attack. To make it worse, before leaving, she allowed the kitchen tap open so water overflowed into the lounge, and the whole floor, covered in carpet, was all wet and eventually started producing a horrible scent,” she continued.

Tilla revealed that her sister’s actions went beyond this betrayal. “To top it off, she borrowed money from Big G (Proprietor of the restaurant location) and disappeared. She has avoided me since then, and I haven’t even set eyes on her.”

This incident adds to Tilla’s history of frustrations, as she previously used social media to discuss challenges in her daily life. Two years ago, she appealed to her fans to raise money for one of her music videos, stating that if it didn’t succeed, she would quit music. This may explain her relatively low profile in the music industry.

Despite facing challenges in the music industry, Tilla turned to the restaurant business, which was thriving until her sister’s intervention. Now, she is once again reaching out for support from well-wishers to help her rebuild her business.

“I’m calling on supporters, well-wishers, food lovers, investors, sponsors, and cultural promoters to support me in regaining my business. I’m a mother with a son to take care of, and we all know how unsustainable entertainment is in this country as an independent artist,” she expressed.
