Renowned Cameroonian Actor Alenne Menget bestowed traditional title Ni Ngamfon.

Award-winning Cameroonian actor Alenne Menget has been crowned Ni Ngamfon, a respectable traditional title in Ngyen-Muyah, a Fondom in Batibo, Momo Division of the country’s North West Region.

He was bestowed the traditional accolades over the weekend by HRH Fon Teche Njie II, Fon of Ngyen-Muwah l, in the presence of 11 other Fons of the NorthWest Region.

This was during a grand cultural show in Bonaberi, Douala, Littoral region.

Award-winning Cameroonian actor, Alenne Menget expresses his gratitude and says, this is the fruit of resilience.

‘Ni Ngamfon’ MMI gathered is a prestigious traditional title in Ngyen-Muyah, given to individuals who have made significant contributions to their community.

In Menget’s case, the title is a recognition of his achievements in movie making in his native land-Moghamo clan and Cameroon as a whole.

The movie guru, who will henceforth be addressed as Ni Ngamfon Alenne Menget after his coronation told MMI that, “There is nothing as exciting as being recognized by your own people. It is very important to have value from my own grassroots.”

He added that receiving such a title is proof of recognition by the palace and the people. “I have enjoyed international recognition, but this one from home is the most important. This simply means I am loved and recognized from where I come from too,” Ni Ngamfon said.

Conforming to the adage that hard work pays, the movie star encouraged his peers to be hard-working and patient.

“Resilience, tenacity, and a go-getter attitude have been my backbone. I can tell the young ones, you will make it if you work hard, be patient and try to do right,” he advised.

It should be noted that Ngamfon Alenne Menget has received numerous international awards for his work including; Best African Actor at the Golden Movie Awards in Ghana in 2018, Best African Actor at the CANNES, Dikalo awards in France in 2019, and Best Nollywood Actor in London in 2019.

The CEO of Ni’s Kitchen (a restaurant dealing with the most delicious Cameroon delicacies) was also recognized by the state of Cameroon with the honor of ‘The Knight of the Cameroon Order of Valour.’

He also practiced as a journalist for several years in Cameroon.
