Residents of Kumba and Ekondo Titi in the South West Region have expressed joy over the partial rehabilitation of the Kumba-Ekondo Titi stretch.
According to the road users, the rehabilitation has reduced the cost of transportation usually spent to move from one town to the other.
“We usually paid very high transport even to bikes. We usually boarded bikes from here to Kumba at 7000 or 10, 000 FCFA,” said a road user.
He added, “I thank God that the road has been opened. I can now pay 1000 or 1500 FCFA from Ekondotiti to Kumba.”
During the inauguration ceremony of the stretch, the Senior Divisional Officer for the Meme Division, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong urged the population to shun fear and embrace peace.
