RHEDAC Holds Government Responsible For Ngarbuh Massacre

The Network for the Defense of Human Rights in Central Africa RHEDAC says 36 people that include men, women and children were killed in Ngarbuh Ntumbaw village in Donga Mantung Division in the North West region.

In a press briefing in Douala Tuesday February 18th 2020, Maximillienne Ngo Mbe;director of RHEDAC says government is solely responsible for the massacre that has brought untold misery to families in the locality.

To RHEDAC, government needs to take urgent steps to solve the crisis by first calling for a ceasefire in the North West and South west regions, release Sisiku Ayuk Tabe Julius and more than 1500 detainees in connection to the crisis before creating an independent investigation commission to find out perpetrators of the carnage in the anglophone regions.

Bar. Alice Nkom;board chair of RHEDAC says government is guilty reason why two contradictory releases have been signed and published by the ministry of defense. To Philip Nanga; leader of a human rights group UN Monde d’Avenir, government is minimising the human and material damages caused in Ngarbuh.

As concerns the twin election, RHEDAC regrets that three people died on voting day ;that is two in Noun division and one in Douala. Beside this, the international human rights group says irregularities marked the voting most especially in the North West and South West regions due to insecurity.
