In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the Cameroon government created a 1 billion FCFA fund to tackle the virus.
Several persons of goodwill have also engaged in the fight, donating what they can. The latest on the list is business tycoon and billionaire, El Hadj Baba Danpullo who has offered the sum of 100 million FCFA.
The cheque was handed to the Minister of health yesterday by the General Manager of Nexttel Cameroon who led a delegation from the business tycoon.
The donation, a member of the delegation says is an expression of Baba Danpullo’s concern, bearing in mind that he is one of the leading employers in the nation.
Despite the kind gesture, the business magnet has been called out by many online with some saying the amount is small as compared to previous sums he had donated for political activities of the ruling CPDM party.
