Scores settling: Bakweri bloc flushes out Dr. Sango from Buea University

President Paul Biya has dismissed Dr. Martin Ndeh Sango, Associate Professor of History from the Higher Education corps.

The decree signed today alleges that Dr. Sango failed to set resit exam questions for the 2018/2019 academic year.

Dr. Sango reportedly denied any wrongdoing, especially given that setting resit exams is voluntary. Aside that, the President of the University of Buea Chapter of the National Syndicate of Teachers of Higher Education, SYNES had prior to the resit exams called for a postponement given the insecurity at the time.

Today’s dismissal is said to have been masterminded by the Registrar of the University of Buea, Dr. Ernest Molua, and the Head of Department for Journalism and Mass Communication, Dr. Kingsley Ngange. They had promised to punish Dr. Sango for writing an opinion in The SUN Newspaper on the Bakwerinisation of the University of Buea.

The dismissal was further facilitated by Prof. Nol Alembong, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Buea in charge of Teaching. While Alembong served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts, he gave Sango such hard times, promising to show him the door out of the university system.

Alembong was angry with Sango because Sango refused to quit the University of Buea Chapter of the National Syndicate of Teachers of Higher Education, SYNES.

Reacting to the move by President Biya, Cameroon’s renowned female politician, Kah Walla termed it an example of a failed state and called for a political transition.

Sango is Vice President of SYNES UB.

Dr. Agbor Richard Enow, Lecturer at the Department of History is said to have been very instrumental in cooking of things against Dr. Sango. Agbor Richard was compensated recently with the position of Head of Division at the University of Buea.

Shortly after the presidential decree was read, Ernest Molua, Kingsley Ngange, Nol Alembong and Agbor Richard Enow were spotted celebrating.
