SDF bigwig resigns, says party now Fru Ndi’s property

By David Atangana

The Social Democratic Front, SDF, has suffered another big blow following the resignation of high profile supporter.

Atekwana Joseph who had served the party as assistant treasurer and member of the advisory council tabled his resignation in December.

He said beginning January 1, 2023, he will no longer be a member of the party that was once the hope of change in Cameroon.

Advancing a number of reasons,he regretted that Fru Ndi who has led the party since creation has personalised the party for selfish gains.

“No body, to my knowledge, who has served you and the party, sincerely, has become anything publicly or privately in life,” part of the resignation letter reads adding that, “None of those who founded the party and those who sacrificed their lives for it are remembered nor even their loved ones left behind have been cared for.”

Pointing out the self-centered nature of the chairman, he said, “The party, for thirty two years, has no landed property, except, that in Olendzoua, Yaounde, handed on a plata of gold, by late Mbanga James.”

“And sadly enough, his widow and children left behind have never been thought of,” he went on stating that “Most (98%) of party National Executive Comity,NEC, meetings are held in your(Fru Ndi) residence.”

Narrating an incident with the chairman during the exhuming of late Lawyer Sama’s corps in Yaoundé, Atekwana recalled being called a devil by the party leader.

“Mr. Atekwana, if you died before now, I would have taken you for an Angel. To day, you are worst than satan. I, no longer, have anymore confidence in you,” he recalled.

With such pronouncements, the former SDF treasurer said, “I therefore, Mr. Chairman, have no earthly reason, to belong to SDF, which is equal to Nu John Fru Ndi.”
