SDF Chairman Joshua Osih meets diaspora supporters in Europe

Joshua Osih Nambangi, Member of Parliament for Wouri East and National Chairman of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) opposition party, recently met with party supporters in the diaspora. The gathering took place in Brussels, Belgium, where SDF militants from across Europe convened over the weekend to welcome their leader.

Ahead of the event, the party announced a series of discussions focusing on key issues such as federalism, the Anglophone crisis, education, opposition coalitions, dual nationality, economic recovery, human rights in Cameroon, a diaspora one-stop shop, and the problem of the FCFA.

“I was honored to meet with delegates from various Cameroonian diaspora groups during my recent visit to Brussels,” Joshua Osih stated.

He added, “We had a productive discussion about the current state of our party and the dire state of our nation under the current regime.” The discussions included “a frank conversation about the future our party envisions for Cameroon. We believe the voices of the diaspora will be critical in our struggle to transform Cameroon.”

Joshua Osih was elected SDF national chairman last year following the passing of its long-time leader and founder, Ni John Fru Ndi. Since taking on this role, Osih has toured all ten regions of the country to establish himself as the national leader of a party that was once a formidable opposition to the ruling CPDM.

“I am committed to strengthening our connections with Cameroonians around the world and working together towards a brighter future for our nation,” he emphasized.

Osih is expected to be the SDF’s candidate in next year’s presidential election, despite emerging fourth in the 2018 election according to official results.
