SDF Europe to inaugurate France Office
The Social Democratic Front (SDF) is set to mark a milestone on March 15, 2025. This will be with the official inauguration of its France Constituency Office at 22 rue de Tretaigne, Paris. The event, which will be presided over by Mr Martin Mbiya, is expected to draw a diverse audience of party members, supporters, and representatives from various political organisations.
The new office is intended to strengthen ties between the SDF and the Cameroonian diaspora in France. Mr. Mbiya is expected to emphasise the importance of the diaspora’s role in shaping Cameroon’s political landscape . He will further highlight the SDF’s commitment to fostering inclusive political participation.
A key feature of the event will be a presentation by Professor Louis-Marie Kakdeu, Vice President of the SDF. He will outline the party’s programme for the upcoming presidential election scheduled for October 2025. Professor Kakdeu is expected to discuss major policy proposals aimed at addressing Cameroon’s pressing issues, including economic reforms, educational advancements, and strategies for enhancing national unity.
Following the presentation, a Q&A session will also provide attendees the opportunity to engage directly with party officials regarding the SDF’s electoral strategies and its efforts to engage Cameroonians abroad. This interactive dialogue is expected to further highlight the party’s commitment to transparency and grassroots involvement.
This inauguration follows the SDF’s Extraordinary Convention, which took place on March 1, 2025, in Yaoundé. During this convention, Honorable Joshua Osih was officially elected as the party’s candidate for the upcoming presidential elections. Osih, who has been serving as the National Chairman of the SDF since October 2023, previously ran as the party’s candidate in the 2018 presidential elections. His leadership is widely regarded as a continuation of the party’s vision to bring progressive change to Cameroon.
Alexis Kamewe, Chairman of SDF Europe, will close the event by reiterating the party’s dedication to its supporters in Europe and the critical role they play in the broader political process. He is further expected to encourage continued engagement and support as the SDF gears up for the forthcoming elections.
The establishment of the France Constituency Office signals the SDF’s proactive approach in mobilising support and ensuring that the voices of Cameroonians abroad are heard in the national discourse. As the October elections approach, the party also aims to leverage its international networks to bolster its campaign efforts.
