SDF National Executive Committee admits motion calling for Osih’s dismissal

The Social Democratic Front, SDF party is finally going to address a motion to have it’s 1st Vice Chairman kicked out of the party.

The decision was reached at during an enlarged National Executive Committee – NEC meeting in Yaoundé over the weekend.

Reports say at the session, those present voted to declare admissible a motion by the party’s Littoral Regional chapter to excommunicate Hon. Joshua Osih.

At the NEC, it was agreed upon that the facts of the motion in relation to the party’s constitution would be examined by the SDF legal department. It would then present the facts to the party for further action.

“The submission by the regional executive committee has been entertained… The legal department takes it goes through makes a reading and get your findings let us know if truly what Osih is being accused of is fallacious then find out the veracity of the accusation” says Henry Kejang, the party’s 3rd National Communication Secretary.

Osih, he notes, would only be kicked out “… If they find the accusations as backed by facts”.

Then, he says, “the NEC will still sit and discuss and there can still be an appeal…”.

Going by party protocol, Osih would be expected to and given the chance to defend himself, staying his position as well as justification for his actions. Only then would the party come to a conclusion.

Reports circulating that the National Vice Chairman has been dismissed already, the 3rd National Communication Secretary says, is the work of detractors seeking to set confusion.

“The party is built on a solid legal foundation” he revealed.

Henry Kejang noted that several other aspects were handled at the NEC, as the party continues to strategise on positively impacting policies in the country. Among them, he says, are discussions on getting a consensual Electoral Code.

Despite the backlash his signature on the document generated given tht it was signed by predominantly lawmakers of the ruling CPDM, the politician denied any wrongdoing.

He also noted that he would repeat the action if given another opportunity to. Citing his action as being against party standards, he was kicked out of the Littoral chapter of the party, which later forwarded the motion to the NEC.
