SDF Visits Buea Family Which Lost Three Kids to Food Poisoning

Two months after losing their three children to a suspected food poisoning, the family of Mr Mwambo Stephen in Buea Saturday, November 30, received a humanitarian gesture from the Social Democratic Front party (SDF).

Prominent militants of the SDF in Fako Division, hailing from Buea, Tiko, and Muyuka, visited the family with encouraging words and an undisclosed financial token to sympathize with them.

They expressed their sympathies with the family, assuring them they had not been abandoned.

“We believe that no one should face such sorrow alone, and as a party, we are dedicated to fostering a community of care and compassion,” the SDF’s communication secretary wrote.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mwambo family. May they find strength and comfort in the love of family, friends, and community.”

One Month After Tragedy Struck

Friday, September 29, 2024, marked exactly one month since Mr Mwambo Stephen and his wife were struck by grief.

Their three children ate food at home but collapsed in Church hours later and died at the hospital.

Although the exact cause of their deaths remains elusive, food poisoning became the likely cause.

During the SDF visit to his house, Mr Stephen Mwambo said they are gradually recovering from the grief, thanks to comforts from goodwill people and their faith in God.

“This is the first visit coming from a political party, and to me, it speaks volumes… It’s not about the giving, it’s about the mind,” he said.

“If people don’t have you in mind, if people don’t feel your pain, they will not even call you. You’re not even going to see them. We are truly grateful,” he added.

One of the lead members of the SDF delegation, former deputy Mayor of Tiko, Mama Enjema, said visit was symbolic.

She hinged it on the SDF’s social vision, which involves reaching out to Cameroonians in difficulties.
