Separatist fighters gun down man in Bamenda, burn motorbikes

The population of Naturu-Bamenda are still in shock after witnessing the killing of a bike rider named Rene, and the burning of two bikes on the morning of Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

On Wednesday morning, separatist fighters took hold of the quarter stopping the movement of people, vehicles, and bikes, MMI gathered.

Narrating the incident to MMI, a relative to the deceased said, the separatist fighters had set fire on Rene’s bike. Seeing his source of livelihood going down the drain, Rene is said to have attempted to put out the fire, but was shot dead.

Many other bikes were later set on fire and others seized around the Behind Travelers neighborhood.

The separatist fighters said they had ordered a lockdown and the people were not respecting it.
