Shock after an old Nigerian herbalist reported rapes a teenager
A 94-year-old herbalist whose name MMI is yet to obtain has been arrested by the Adamawa Police Command in Nigeria for defiling a 13-year-old girl.
He was arrested in Tappare ward, Gabe Local Government Area, after one of his prey fell ill and opened up to her mother.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, noted in a statement that the herbalist was well-known in his neighbourhood for chasing after young girls’ skirts.
SP Suleiman Nguroje explained that the herbalist called the young girl into his home while she was walking past the suspect’s residence. “He called her into the house and took advantage of her by having an unlawful carnal knowledge of her,” Suleiman said in the statement.
After the incident, the young girl began feeling unwell, awakening her mother’s curiosity. When being interrogated by her mom, she revealed what transpired, and said she was smeared with some perfume-like concoction.
The mother of the young girl reported the incident to the Ganye Divisional Police Headquarters without thinking twice, which resulted in the herbalist’s arrest.
