Cameroonian born artist affectionately called ‘’General’’ is due to appear in the Queen’s African project, soon to hit the showbiz world in the days to ahead.
‘’Water’’ is the song title that appears number seven on the tract list recently published by the American musician, Beyoncé Knowles. The song is a collaboration between: Salatiel, Pharell and Beyoncé herself. The song will thus be part of one of the soundtracks counting for the album The Lion King: The Gift, which in turn, is a reinforced title for the movie The Lion King.
According to a press release authored by the singer on Friday 12, ‘’This is sonic cinema. This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.’’
Meantime, People tweeted on July 16, declaring the album ‘’…a love letter to Africa,’’ in Beyoncé’s own words. This could be the reason why many other African artists have been convened to take part in the project, amidst a few Americans.
In the 14 titles album, there are tracks by Tekno, Yemi Alade and Mr. Eazi; Burna Boy; Tiwa Savage and Mr. Eazi; and 070 and Jessie Reyez.
As Salatiel’s fans await the hit song come July 19, they also express some degree of doubt as to how true such a collaboration could be. On the various social media networks hosting the Cameroonian singer, songwriter and music producer, very little is said about the project. However, one of the artist’s fans has published a post on Facebook, calling on Cameroonians to appreciate ‘’Le showbiz 237’’. Have a glimpse here below.
