Showbiz: Maahlox embarrasses Anglophone artist, Mr. Wams Klassic at Yaoundé event

The controversy surrounding Cameroonian artist, Jean Jules Kenfack popularly known as Maahlox le Vibeur keeps takings leaps.

Fans at an event in his snack bar in Yaoundé were perplexed when the popular artist said mean words to fellow artist, Mr. Wams Klassic whom he himself invited from Douala to come sing at his snack bar “Boivement”.

In a short video shared by Mr. Wams Klassic on his Facebook page, it shows Maalhox blasting off the artist to his face after Wams complained about the type of reception he got.

“When we got here, there was no one who could even usher us in and to make us feel welcomed,” he is heard saying in the video.

He hailed Maahlox’s initiative to help young artists grow, but insisted the quality of reception and delivery from Maahlox could he better.

Visibly annoyed by the remarks Mr. Wams had just made, he lashed out at the singer to his face saying: “I am the most popular and most known artist in Cameroon. I am not obliged to put my services, my material and my personnel for the betterment and growth of upcoming artists… when I started my singing career no one did this for me.”

“I do not need upcoming artists to come to me. In the first place you are not known. You are not a star. You are not even credible yet. You need to have the humility. You are asking for security, you are asking for recognition and you are asking for air tickets to get here. You are not even started yet,” Maahlox said to the shock of his audience.

The feud however continued on social media as Maahlox had more mean words for the promising Anglophone Journalist/Musician.

In one of his numerous rants on Facebook he wrote “this guy (Wams) has taught me a lesson never to help someone anymore. How do you beg for an opportunity to sing at my event, then you come with your own plans prepared? And again, he was very terrible. His performance was so bad. He was the most terrible artist of the night”.

Maahlox is an artist popularly known for his controversial comments and actions. He has nothing diplomatic guiding his status as a public figure.

One of the most controversial moments in recent history was when he prevented some women at his organized rally to seek justice for the seven kids massacred in Kumba, from holding signboards and placards with written messages.

He stated, “We beg you to take off these placards. We do not want to display what we have not been authorized to display”.

Many Cameroonians were critical of the rally, that brought together many known Cameroonian artists, saying it was all staged and not from the heart.
