The sum of 51,882,480 FCFA ( Fifty one million, eight hundred and eighty-two thousand, eight hundred and forty francs) was distributed to the 10 families who posses land titles.

” We are very happy with what has been given to us. Luckily enough I was one of those with a land tittle, reasonI was indemnified,” a beneficiary said.
Meanwhile hundreds of families did not receive a dime from the government as they have no land certificates.

The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO of the Diamare , in an interview on the issue said: “The government is implementing certain projects in the Diamaré so as to enable the population have constant energy supply. However this had a negative impact on some persons, reason the Head of state instructed that the victims be indemnified. ” The installation of the solar plant is to tackle recurrent power failures in the Far North region.
