Elements of the Rapid Intervention Battalion, BIR, have rescued an alleged thief from an angry mob in Nkambe, Donga Mantung division of the North West region.
The incident occured Wednesday 4th May 2022.
The man whose name MMI got as Nfor Ngwayi popularly knwon as ‘Jako Money’ is reported to have stolen a goat.
He was nabbed by the population who pounced on him with beatings around the Nkambe Palace, MMI gathered.
Ngwayi, reports further hold, was rescued from the hands of the angry population by elements of the Rapid Intervention Battalion BIR.
They reportedly handed him over to the gendarmerie brigade for further investigation.
The suspect is said to be a notorious thief around Nkambe.
He is said to be an ex-convict.
He is also suspected of having been involved in so many robberies in Nkambe and it’s environs.
“Each time we lay hands on this guy, gendarmes will come and rescue him.Before we know it he is released to continue causing havoc,” a local fumed.
