Residents of Dienyi Village in Mbonge Subdivision, Meme Division,, South West Region of Cameroon have taken to their heels after soldiers stormed the area.
“The military entered the village on Thursday last week and forced the locals to run for safety in the forest,” says a local.
He further explains that “… they have burnt down six houses and have been throwing explosives all over.”
The army, he added, “.. captured a group of women in one farm area called Kokore Uphill and tortured them severely they have put them in the Presbyterian Church under their custody while others are still going to other farming areas in search of innocent civilians.”
The ongoing raid is similar to that in Bekondo village, and hundreds of other villages in the restive Anglophone regions.
While Amba boys are operating with impunity in Alabukam, Ntankah, and Ntasen in the heart of Bamenda, soldiers go around killing civilians in enclave areas.
