Southwest Chief and military officer, Moja Moja, incites regional-based terror on civilians

Ewome John Eko alias Moja Moja, the Chief of Bwassa village in Buea, Southwest of Cameroon, and officer with the Cameroon military, is openly inciting regional and tribe-based violence against civilians in the performance of his duties.

The Chief, who has been known for his intolerance of the separatist movement, was recently seen in a video beating a man because he was from the Northwest.

Sources in Buea have told MMI that the notorious military officer and Chief is particularly mean towards people from Cameroon’s Northwest region and he tags anyone from there a separatist who is already guilty of terrorism.

Moja Moja has, over the years, been strongly against the Monday ghost towns separatists imposed on the two English-speaking.

As a traditional ruler and officer of the Rapid Intervention Battalion, Moja Moja owes the community and the nation a duty to protect citizens against injustice and violence instead of perpetrating it himself, says a source who preferred not to be named.

Moja Moja’s last public outing in Buea was when he came out to perform traditional rituals on a piece of land disputed by the University of Buea and some natives of Bulu village.

During the rituals, he warned that anyone who trespassed on the disputed area and tries to seize University land would face the wrath of the gods.
