Indomitable Lions Goalkeeper Andre Onana has officially returned to training again after 9 months out.
The goalkeeper was on the bench for his Dutch Club Ajax FC, in their game against DVV in the Eridivise League.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper returned from a CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sports) issued a suspension for doping. Onana was found to have the banned substance furosemide in his urine after an ‘out of competition’ check on 30 October last year.
He argued that he had accidentally taken the substance after mistaking his wife’s medication for aspirin and asked for his ban to be overturned by CAS.
His sanction, which was initially supposed to be for one year, was reduced to 9 months after no significant fault could be attributed to Andre Onana.
