Survie Cameroon Survival Initiative Leaders Summoned over Financial Crimes Charges

Penda Ekoka Christian, President of “Survie Cameroon Survival Initiative” (SCSI) and Fogue Tedom Alain- National treasurer of Cameroon Renaissance Movement Party have been summoned at the judicial police Headquarters in Yaounde this Friday May 15th 2020 at 10: 00 am.

In two separate convocations signed by the director of judicial police – Dili Jacques, the two personalities are to answer questions concerning financial transactions of the SCSI that has been raising funds to assist Cameroonians battle with the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

The questioning of Penda Ekoka Christian and Fogue Tedom Alain has been ordered by the Mfoundi High Court that is monitoring financial activities of the movement government has on several occasions described as illegal.

Monday this week, six volunteers of “Survie Cameroon Survival Initiative” were arrested and are still in detention for distributing face masks and hand sanitisers from SCSI to the population in Mokolo market.

Cameroon’s Minister of Public Health had earlier rejected medical and health kits from SCSI on the bases of what government calls “illegal Movement”.

Members of SCSI have criticised government’s handling of the pandemic while calling on Cameroonians to be responsible in their behaviour and stop the spread of the virus.
