Suspected Amba Boys kidnap couple in Bui

Armed men believed to be separatist fighters are said to have kidnapped a couple in Bui division of the North West region.

The circumstances leading to the kidnap of Mr John Kinga and wife in the locality of Kikaikom has remained unclear.

However, close family sources say the duo were picked up by Amba Boys on grounds that they were collaborating with soldiers operating in the area, an allegation his family has since dismissed.

John Kinga is said to be a retired primary school Teacher whom his family say has been living a very discreet life.

They say he has never involved in politics even after retiring from active service as a teacher.

His wife, who is also in the den of the kidnappers is a house wife.

A close family source said they were ” kidnapped since four days by Bui warriors amba group and we don’t know where they are till now”.

“I think its setup as Mr John Kinga is one of the richest person in the Village” , the family source said.

He added that “We don’t know their whereabouts despite the calls with the general in charge”.

The source quotes the Amba ‘General’ as saying the kidnapped couple are traitors “because military entered our village destroyed things in some suspected people’s houses and did not destroy anything in our house”.

“May be Because they met one old woman in the house thought they took 40, 000 francs”, the source suggested.
