The incident occured on the night of Wednesday breaking Thursday April 28, 2022.

Sources in Mamfe say heavily armed men stormed the area around 2:am, removed people from their homes, kill three including a teacher and took one person away.

“We alerted security forces but they only showed up in the morning when the attackers were nowhere to be found. They killed three persons, took one away and burnt down about seven buildings,” a witness, Ebot explained.

Though no group has claimed responsibility, accussing fingers are pointing at separatist fighters of carrying out the attacks.

Questions have continued to be asked as to why the population both sides say they are out to protect are the same persons suffering in the hands of their so-called liberators.
