Suspected armed Fulani men kill one, injure another in Ndu

By David Atangana

A man identified as Dickson has been shot dead while the daughter was severely injured.

They attacked by suspected armed Fulani men.

Two others were tied with a rope and dumped in the bush until they were discovered, MMI has gathered

The incident is reported to have occured Saturday May 21, 2022 in Mangi, a locality in Ndu Subdivision of Donga Mantung, Northwest Region.

Alleged armed Fulani men stormed Mangi in the night committing the macabre act, according to eye witnesses

“At Mangi yesterday at about 11pm. One person was short and killed on the sport. His daughter who raised an alarm was shot on the two legs,” a source has told MMI.

“Dickson stepped out of his house to ease himself and met these armed men. They asked whether he had anything, which he refused. He was asked to surrender his phone and was shot dead,” an eye witness recounted.

“The wounded was carried to Ndu and transfered to BBH,” the source continued further revealing that, “Two other people, including one Mr Tamnjong Edward Ndzi who was bound with ropes and kept in the bush until discovered.”

Wailing engulfed the locality as the local population could not believe their own eyes.

Mangi is located between Mbohngong and Ntayih which have repeatedly recorded clashes between the government forces and Amba fighters.

It is not known why Dickson was killed.

However, MMI has gathered on good authority that the fulanis and the indigenous people of the area have had strained relationship since the escalation of the ongoing secessionist armed conflict in the two English speaking regions.
