Suspected separatist fighters kill businessman in Lebialem over ‘blackleg’ claims

The businessman whose name Mimi Mefo Info got as Christopher was killed by some elements of the separatist fighters in M’muock Fosimondi in Lebialem Division in Cameroon’s restive South West Region.

The assailants claim he had been giving out vital information on Amba activities and had also often stood against their activities in Lebialem.

Christopher was attacked and killed in his house by the fighters this morning at about 6:00 am, after which there was a serious gun battle with the Cameroon military forces that lasted close to an hour.

Aside from the fact that he has been accused by the fighters who executed him of being an informant for the military forces, some others believe that his death had more to it as they think it was a settlement of personal scores he had with certain separatist fighters in Lebialem.

Christopher, before his demise, was a successful local businessman and part time farmer.

After he was killed, these gunmen also proceeded to destroying some business places in the M’muock Fosimondi locality.

Accusing fingers remain painted at separatist fighters.

“Amba boys stormed my village, M’mouck Fossimondi in alou sub division today morning and killed my uncle without any reason” a local say.

He adds that “they came in the night, an uncountable number and looted stores, burned down cars and attempt killing two others but they escaped.”
