Suspected Thief Burnt Alive In Bamenda

A suspected thief was last night burnt alive in the Foncha street neighborhood in Bamenda, sources have confirmed.

Locals say the neighborhood has for weeks now been experiencing repeated cases of theft and burglary with the men of the underworld leaving the population in fear and uncertainty.

As a result of this, the people adopted strategy to counter the burglars, through the use of vuvuzelas.

Each time suspected thieves come around, the vuvuzelas are blown, alerting the entire neighborhood.

Through this strategy residents of the town say, one was apprehended by the population and his arm later cut off.

Two more suspected thieves, residents say, were killed of recent; one at Mile three last week and another yesterday at GTHS Nkwen.

Despite the heavy security deployed in the conflict hit Anglophone regions, several cases of theft and crime in general are still being reported on a daily basis. Due to the crisis, economic activities have slumped, suggesting an increase in the unemployment rate of the regions.

This comes as a challenge to the forces of law and order who are already engaged in a deadly combat with Ambazonian fighters based in the regions.
