Suspicious man-made fire razes Kumbo Post Office

The Post Office in Kumbo situated in Tobin, Bui Division in the North West Region has been burnt. An indigene of the locality writing to Mimi Mefo Info Friday, February 19th says ” the building started burning at about 3:00 am this morning. Though the flames were visible, there was no action either by the population or military to put out the flames. The building has been reduced to nothing “.

Residents cannot independently point to the cause of the fire incident. Despite this, sources say separatist fighters in a drive for the restoration of the state of Ambazonia have been largely responsible for the burning of state property in Kumbo and other parts of the Bui Division in the North West.

Tobin Post office as it’s called in the locality, residents say was practically empty given that the government removed all necessary materials from the office in late 2018 when insecurity became unbearable for the workers.

In one of the videos of a separatist activist based in the diaspora who identifies himself as “Capo Daniel “, he is quoted to have called for economic sabotage in the anglophone regions to cripple the control of the Cameroon government over activities in the anglophone regions.
