SW chapter of Cameroon Journalists Trade Union gets new president

Equinoxe Television Correspondent and South West Bureau Chief, Derrick Jator has been elected to head the South West regional Chapter of the Cameroon Journalists Trade Union.

“I have no doubts Mr. Jator will do the job. He is the man of the people; he has the contacts, the charisma and the wisdom to head the Union” one member said.

He takes over from Kum Leonard who is now at My Media Prime in the Littoral region.

Derrick’s election comes at a time when journalists in the region are faced with a lot of challenges and have for months been calling for the release of Wazizi, a journalist arrested months ago.
