Teachers on strike at GBHS Ebone

The teaching and learning process has temporally come to a stop at the Government Bilingual High School, GBHS Ebone, Mungo division in the Littoral region of Cameroon.

The teachers are standing against total insecurity of teachers both in school and at home. They also say they are disgruntled with security forces and the ministry of secondary education for not doing enough to secure students and teachers.

On Monday this week, boys identified as students of GBHS Ebone invaded the residence of the principal of the school, beating family members and are said to have raped the daughter of the principal. The boys’ actions they say were to punish the school principal Adolphe Che Tambe for taking measures to institute discipline in the school.

At the moment, the daughter of the school principal is receiving medical assistance in a medical facility in the Moungo division.

Government Bilingual High School Ebone is noted for having a high level of insecurity perpetrated by some recalcitrant students of the school.
The ministry of secondary education is yet to officially react on what is happening at the institution.
