An atmosphere of uncertainty now looms in Bamenda following the seizure of more than 500 motorbikes. The motorbikes were seized by security officers.
The exercise that started Thursday continued till Friday.
The authorities have not made any official statement as to why the bikes are being seized and what the victims need to do in order to regain their bikes.
The last time bikes were seized, many said they spent huge sums to collect them.
“I spent 90, 000 FCFA before I could get my bike.i was even lucky. Many had the money but their bikes were nowhere to be found. One of friends told me his bike was discovered in Bafoussam after it had been sold,” he said.
As the forcefull collection of motor bikes intensify in Bamenda, there are fears that the relative peace the town enjoys will be destroyed.
