Bafoussam: Gendarmes open investigation into dead man found in stream

Security operatives in Batcham, in the West Region of Cameroon, have launched investigations to establish the circumstances that led to the death of a man.

The victim, whose identity remains unclear, was discovered in a stream in the Baleghang neighborhood in Batcham, West Region of Cameroon.

The discovery was made on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

The circumstances surrounding his demise are not clear. “It is unknown if he was killed or if he killed himself,” a source said.

It is not clear if he died by suicide or was killed and the body dumped in the stream.

According to sources in Batcham, the identity of the man is yet to be established and will only be done after findings regarding his death have been concluded.

Cases as such have become recurrent in Cameroon, especially in the West region.
