“The coach needs to be changed” Cameroonians React to Elimination from AWCON.

Cameroonians have reacted with shock and disappointment to the Indomitable Lionesses’ elimination from the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) qualification by Kenya.

The Lionesses’ elimination has sent shockwaves through Cameroon, where football is the most popular sport. Many Cameroonians are struggling to come to terms with the fact that their team will not be participating in the AWCON, which is the biggest women’s football tournament in Africa.

On social media, many Cameroonians expressed their shock and disappointment at the Lionesses’ elimination. Some fans blamed the coach, Jean Baptist Bisseck, for the team’s poor performance. Others called for changes to be made to the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).

“I’m so disappointed in the Lionesses. They had a chance to make amends for their poor performance at the last AWCON, but they blew it.” Beri Enanga on Facebook.

“Bisseck has to go! He’s been in charge of the Lionesses for too long, and he hasn’t won anything. It’s time for a new coach to come in and take the team forward.” Said RogerRoys on twitter.

The Lionesses’ elimination has also been met with disappointment offline. Many Cameroonians have spoken to the media to express their feelings about the team’s performance.

“This is a disgrace! The Lionesses are supposed to be one of the best teams in Africa, but they’ve been eliminated by a team that has never even qualified for the AWCON before.” said Jaures Nguifack talking to MMI.

“I’m very disappointed,” said Michael Njock a fan who watched the full encounter”I thought we had a good chance of winning the AWCON, but we’ve let ourselves down.” He added.

“We need to learn from our mistakes and come back stronger next time,” said another fan, Willy Stephen.

“The indomitable lionesses coach needs to be changed together with some of those old players who are now supposed to be in their husbands houses” Ngo Hugues told MMI

Cameroon’s sports analysts have also expressed their disappointment at the Lionesses’ elimination. Some analysts have criticized the team’s performance, while others have called for changes to be made to FECAFOOT.

“The Lionesses were simply not good enough,” said Ernest Bikai, former sport analyst “They didn’t play with the same passion and intensity that we’ve seen from them in the past. We need to invest more in women’s football. Those ladies need to be trained new strategies, look at small Kenya eliminating us. It’s a disgrace. We really need to step up”. He added.

The Lionesses’ elimination from the AWCON qualification is a major blow to Cameroon’s women’s football. The team will need to make some major changes if they want to compete at the highest level again.
