“The SDF is a coin of two faces in the anglophone crisis” – Prof. Edmond Biloa, CPDM militant

“The Social Democratic Front SDF is playing a double game in the Anglophone crisis, that is, dinning with separatist fighters and the government of Cameroon at the same time” says Prof. Edmond Biloa.

The militant of the Cameroon People Democratic Movement CPDM on the program was talking on “Scene de Presse” on CRTV Sunday March 1st 2020.

To the University don, the chairman of the Social Democratic Front, SDF by refusing to accept security from the state against separatist fighters, Ni John Fru Ndi “wanted to keep himself free for frequent kidnappings by separatists for them to strategize on how to destroy the country.”

He posits that the kidnapping of the chairman of the SDF twice in 2019 was a well arranged deal between separatists and militants of the Social democratic Front SDF.

To Jean Robert Wafo, SDF shadow cabinet minister in charge of information and the media who was also a panelist on the program, the allegations of professor Edmond Biloa are unfounded.

He holds that the SDF is for federation as a form of governance and not separation. To him, the chairman of the SDF refused military protection for his party militants for the interest of their families.

“We cannot accept military protection when it will further expose our families to be targeted by separatist fighters” he said.

Earlier, Dr. Dieudonne Essomba, an economist had stated that the Social Democratic Front is the only political link between the republic of Cameroon and the Anglophone community.

To him, this explains why the constitutional council cancelled legislative election in some parts of the North West and South West regions of Cameroon to give the SDF a significant representation at the national assembly.

Besides this, some separatist leaders and fighters see the SDF as a stumbling block to the independence of Ambazonia. This explains the frequent kidnap and attack of SDF militants in the Anglophone regions and have been calling on SDF parliamentarians to withdraw from the national assembly and the senate.

The party hierarchy is yet to react on the above allegations.
