Thief almost lynched when passerby intervened, asked him to be taken to police

A young man was beaten to near death this morning in Likomba, in the South West Region of Cameroon.

Reports say the bandit, who came from another neighbourhood stormed into a compound and threatened locals in five households. He was about to make away with valuables when he was caught.

“I woke this morning to the noise of my neighbours. I saw so many people beating a young man when I tried going closer to see what was happening. When I asked, they said he is a thief and has entered five houses stealing,” reported Brenda, an inhabitant of that neighbourhood.

After contemplating whether to set him ablaze, the angry mop finally decided to hand him over to the police where he is currently answering questions in deep pain.
