The incident occured on Thursday night of April 22, 2021. Some inmates who had planned an escape out of the Nanga Eboko Main Prison were violently repressed by prison authorities.
The unfortunate incident culminated to a total of three deaths and four critically injured inmates of the Nanga Eboko Main Prison in he Centre region.
Amongst the three deaths recorded are: 30-year-old Idrissou Salfougna a.k.a Ondigui, who was serving a life sentence, transferred from Kondengui Central Prison in Yaoundé, and Biwole Aristide amongst others.
Relative calm has returned to the Prison yard and activities are ongoing as usual. Prison authorities are reportedly working tirelessly to ensure that something of that sort never happens again.
