The traditional ruler of Ngamantse, Shufai Kinkoh Eric Dzekem of Kikaikelaki in Kumbo
The traditional ruler of Ngamantse, Shufai Kinkoh Eric Dzekem of Kikaikelaki in Kumbo, Bui Division of the Northwest region of Cameroon, has refuted the allegations that he is working with Amba fighters.
Aside from denying working with Amba, he equally denied creating a Fondom.
“We pay allegiance to the NSO throne,” he said.
In a video that MMI has seen, the traditional ruler said he has never in any way worked with people holding guns.
A week ago, the Senior Divisional Officer of Bui Division, Menyong Gilbert Sunday, issued a communique warning the shufai.
The SDO has come to his notice that the said traditional ruler is collaborating with separatist fighters the Cameroon government has been fighting since 2017.
One instance of collaboration given by the SDO is when Shufai Eric Dzekem was being seen accompanied by Amba on a journey.
Aside from that, the SDO equally accused the Shufai Dzekem of claiming the title of Fon aimed at disrupting the Nso Fondom.
In response, Shufai Eric Dzekem denied it. “Thank you all for coming. I summoned all of you to still remind you that we all pay allegiance to the NSO throne. I summoned you to let you know that I am here because of you. We have never worked with anyone holding a gun. I am not sure there is anyone among you who is holding a gun. There has never been a time we worked with gun-wielding people,” the Shufai stated.
“I am here because of you people who make up Kikai better than Ngamantse. I have told you time and again that my allegiance is to the NSO throne. There will never be a day we will disown the NSO throne.”
He cautioned the people of Kikai and let them understand that any foreigner in Kikai is not out to harm.
“We should look among ourselves, and we will see that any foreigner in our village came for a good reason. If anything is going on, anybody should let me know. The allegations against me are meanly out of hatred.”
There is only one Paramount traditional ruler in NSO. He is Fon Alhaj Sehm Mbinglo II.
Since the outburst of the conflict, which has created instability in the Nso Fondom, some sub-traditional Fuller who do not hold any claims to being a Fon have created composite Fondoms, some of which are an abomination in the Nso Land.
