Tragic Road Accident in Akum Claims Two Lives, Including Widower

A tragic road accident in Akum, North West Region of Cameroon, has claimed the lives of two people, including a man who had just buried his wife last week.

The fatal crash occurred on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, involving a transport coach operated by Petit Bobo and a bicycle. According to a video seen by MMI, the aftermath of the accident was harrowing, with debris and other road users on the scene.

Pa Tanjong Stephen, one of the victims, was still mourning the loss of his wife. A witness at the scene also reported that the bike rider involved in the crash did not survive.

The tragic accident is just one of many road incidents across Cameroon this week. Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the cause of the accident, but initial reports suggest that reckless driving or poor road conditions could have played a role.

More updates to follow as investigations continue.
