Treated coronavirus patients could contract virus again, health experts warn

As the world tackles the spread of Coronavirus, the virus has been showing further complications.

Contrary to expectations by scientists that once infected and treated of the virus the individual cannot contract the disease again, studies show that there are possibilities of a second contamination.

According to a report published by South China Morning Post,10% of treated COVID-19 patients in the city of Wuhan in China were reinfected.

Studies equally show that a greater number of treated persons become immune of the virus. According to Dr. Nick Ngwayam” the expectation was that once infected and treated, the individual cannot contract Coronavirus again but unfortunately some treated persons are reinfected”.

Scientists say COVID 19 practically differs from other pandemics at this level.

This explains why people who recover from the disease in Cameroon have been called to continue respecting measures of prevention set by the government and the world health organisation.
