A man identified as Tchakwa Leopold is on the run after reportedly killing his wife Weleji Christelle. This happened at the Mabanda neighbourhood in Douala . According to neighbours, Leopold is noted for constantly beating his wife . The body of the woman has been deposited at the mortuary while investigation is on to get details of what happened.


Locals in Touborou Subsivision, Mayo Rey Division in Cameroon’s Far North Region say over 200 people have been kidnapped from the area since January 2021. Locals live in fear as kidnapping and payment of ransom has been the order of the day. The population say some citizens collaborate with kidnappers.


Officials of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) start visiting stadia, hotels and hospitals from tomorrow to May 28th in Cameroon. This is ahead of the African Cup of Nations next year.


The new Mayor of Njombe/Penja Council will have as first task to reunite the MPCN political party members before tackling burning issues affecting the Council area. The new Mayor, Barrister Rene Manfo of MPCN party won the post after defeating three other candidates with one coming from his MPCN political party. This suggests that the MPCN had a disagreement over who to replace late Paul Eric Kingue.

Three shops have been burnt in Ambam in the South region of Cameroon. Residents say one of the shops was a warehouse for the storage of fuel. Locals worked hard to stop the flames from consuming other houses.
