Religious leaders in Douala have reminded Christians that suffering is part of a life of a true Christian. Drawing inspiration from the sufferings, humiliation, death and resurrection of Christ, they called on their followers to remain committed in faith as they commemorated Good Friday today.


Over 14.000 liters of illicit fuel have been confiscated from roadside sellers in Douala. The operation was aimed at putting an end to the commercialization of illicit fuel believed to be hampering economic activities in the town.


The Mayor of the Bamenda II Council in the North West says football and sports in general is a veritable factor for peace and living together. Peter Chenwi made the statement this evening as he handed the sum of 50.000 FCFA to Apejes of Mfou division 1 football club. The Club will play against Yong Sports Academy tomorrow Saturday in Bamenda.


The Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM has rubbished efforts by opposition leaders to amend the electoral code. According to the party’s Communication Secretary, parliament alone reserves rights to amend and adopt changes to the code.


Traders at the Mboppi Market in Douala say fire which consumed a shop in a building may have a mystical origin. An electronic shop was reduced to ashes at an area called Petit Marche Mboppi before elements of the firefighting unit helped put out the flames. The Mboppi Market is noted for numerous fire outbreaks.
