There is no respect for the law governing temporal employment in Cameroon by both public and private sectors. In this regard, the minister of employment and vocational training has threatened sanctions on defaulters. Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary was speaking today in Douala.

Mayor Chenwi Peter of Bamenda 2 municipality in the North West has paid the hospital bills of over sixty-four patients at the Bamenda Regional Hospital. Hospital officials say they have lost more than 150 million FCFA since 2019 as patients treated have no money to pay. The director has saluted the gesture.


Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, Cameroon’s minister of sports and physical education has debunked rumours that the Confederation of African Football will strip Cameroon off her hosting rights. This was during in a press conference in Yaounde.

The government of Cameroon is promising some stringent measures against those resisting to take COVID-19 vaccines. The Prime minister, Joseph Dion Ngute says soon the vaccine will expire.


An accident along the Yaoundé – Douala road today left hundreds of passengers stranded. Several road users said they had missed a lot by being stuck in the same position.

Barrister Amungwa Nicodemus, the Spokesperson of the Ambazonian leaders’ legal team in Yaoundé has been released from detention. Bar president, Claire Atangana Bikouna alongside four others were present to sign his release documents.

The Speaker of National Assembly has expressed concerns over the proliferation of arms in the country. Speaking yesterday at the Glass House, he revealed that over 7,000 illegal arms are in circulation in Cameroon.

Inhabitants of Batang in Mbouda have protested against the arrest of people suspected of exerting mob justice on a criminal. The arrest caused the population to protest en mass against the police. The SDO ordered for the release of those arrested.
